In the 16th century, Queen Catherine de Medici resided at the Tuileries Palace that she commissioned. She became persuaded that a butcher who lived nearby knew too much about her activities, so she decided to have him murdered. Legend has it that as he was about to die, the butcher swore that he would return to haunt the queen. It was said that he haunted her until her death, and pursued his macabre designs with Marie Antoinette and even Napoleon, by announcing their death.
