| Oeuvre sur bois de Jeff Muhs Jeff Muhs' paintings exploit and explore natural physical processes such as optics, chaos, gravity, fluid dynamics, and more. Thru the manipulation of these processes he creates dynamic abstract compositions. Using a highly gestural application of medium, often with multiple paintings occupying the same canvas plane and layering different processes, Muhs ventures to access and harness the very nature of creation. Thru the practice of his work, he endeavors to examine, challenge, and expand our understanding of beauty and perception of it.
Jeff Muhs' Sculptures are created through a process that he has come to call ‘Dynamic Free Casting’. Within this process he has developed new methods for forming concrete, which embrace an insubordinate amount of chance given the inherent fluidity and weight of the medium. His compulsion is to orchestrate, as completely as possible, command over the powerful forces inherent to the medium thereby pushing the limits of the materials and his ability to control it to the absolute maximum. The sculptures are a physical record of these efforts and lay the materials and process bare before the viewer while presenting him with new forms to explore. These results are the fertile ground of creation where he ploughs the realms of the infinite and leave new realities in his wake.https://www.artsy.net/artist/jeff-muhs-1 Ce côté Marie-Antoinette baillonnée me touche beaucoup. |
