| Une représentation qui nous fait mal mais qu'il est nécessaire d'avoir dans ses collections. An allegory on the continuity of French monarchy in the form of a two-handled vase; in the upper part, among the flowers, is a portrait of Henri IV; below, on the neck of the vase, a triple portrait of Louis XVI, Louis XVII and Marie Antoinette in profile to the left; profile portraits the Duchess of Angoulême and the Duchess of Berry are outlined on the neck; on the body, portraits of Louis XVIII and another man (his brother Charles?) in profile to left; and in the lower part, the cross of the Order of the Saint-Esprit on the foot of the vase, with profile portraits of the Duke of Angoulême and the Duke of Berry (both sons of the future Charles X of France) outlined on the foot. 1816 Etching
